About the volcano

Santorini, Thira or Stroggyli is worldwide famous for its volcanic form. Infinite beauty, the effect of the mother of earth is giving even more tension into what she has disappeared.
Its central part was blasted along with the volcano crater around 1613 BC, resulting in the destruction of the prehistoric civilization of the island and the creation of we name nowadays as the Caldera of Santorini. You can visit the boats that make excursions to the volcanoes:
Nea Kameni where you can walk to the volcano crater.
The Old Kameni with the Hot Springs. The waters are yellowish in color, 5 degrees higher than the rest of the sea, and the smell of the aphid is intense.
The islet of Thirassia, which according to mythology, was named after the younger daughter of King Thira, Thirassia, to which the islet was granted in order to build a magnificent palace.

Settlement of Akrotiri

Akrotiri is the most important prehistoric settlements in the Aegean. The ashes buried the settlement that today comes into the light from the excavations and confirms the brilliant civilization of the time.
The archaeological site is located near the Akrotiri settlement, a place that is definitely worth visiting.

The Prehistoric and the Archaeological Museum in Fira, that exhibit statues, sculptures, inscriptions and clay vases.
You can visit the traditional village of Pyrgos, which was the capital of the island until 1800 BC. You will get impressed by the narrow alleys and arches while hosting the Byzantine Church of Panagia Episkopi.

About beaches

Red beach

Red Beach is such a seductive beach on the island with dark blue waters, reddish pebbles that once were like its reddish big rocks and is situated at a very closed distance from Adelante 88.

White beach

Its white rocks, sculpted by the wind, meet with white pebbles and urge you to swim in its crystal clear waters.

Vlychada

The beach is adorned with fine black sand and dark pebbles, elaborately carved rocks that look like they struggle with time. Relax and feel the warmth of the enchanting landscape.

Perissa

One of the most famous and popular beaches of the island with fine black sand, where you will find many beach bars with a wide variety of water sports.
